Building upon the success of the 2017 event in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and the 2018 event in Cartagena, Colombia, we are excited to continue the HEP tradition of bringing together key decision makers and experts for the development and catalyzation of partnerships and programs in international education.
This year we will welcome the HEP community and new stakeholders, educators, and administrators in the field to Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We are thrilled to convene representatives from both the public and private sector to share their experiences and engage conference participants in new strategies and visions for cross-hemispheric collaboration.
In a uniquely engaging format, HEP 2019 will provide a participative, interactive experience in which attendees will share their own experiences, learn from their peers, and network with new partners in dynamic and creative spaces. Participants will have the opportunity not only to participate in accessible and practical sessions, gain insights from renowned plenary speakers, and explore opportunities in the expo hall, but also to collaborate and build relationships in innovative workshops, cultural excursions, and personalized activities. Please check out the conference agenda for a sneak peek at HEP 2019!
This year’s theme, Inclusion and Sustainability, invites conference participants to consider the local context of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, as well as pressing themes in the region and the greater western hemisphere. Our hope is for conference participants, sponsors, and presenters to consider not only how issues of inclusion and sustainability can impact programs in international education, but also how they may affect communities and people throughout the region. Take a look at our Call for Proposals for more details on the HEP 2019 theme.
